New College Swindon has officially opened its brand-new Welcome Hub at the North Star Campus, which will become the college sites main entrance from w/c 26 January. As well as serving as the college’s main reception point, the new Welcome Hub building will be the dedicated home for New College Swindon’s Student Support Services, bringing together key teams in one welcoming and easily accessible space. These services include:
Importantly, the new Welcome Hub building provides a dedicated and inclusive area away from the main teaching areas, allowing students to speak openly, feel supported, and receive the right help at the right time. It also gives staff the facilities they need to deliver high-quality, personalised support in a professional and welcoming setting. The new building will support a wide range of student needs, including mental health and emotional wellbeing, safeguarding and welfare support, financial advice, and general student services. By housing these teams together, the college aims to improve access to support, encourage early intervention, and ensure students are able to receive the right help at the right time. The new building also enables staff to work more collaboratively, enhancing the quality and consistency of support services and reinforcing New College Swindon’s commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and success.
