At New College Swindon we provide an inclusive, inspirational and innovative learning community. If you have a physical or sensory impairment, learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Autistic Spectrum Condition or any other learning needs, our Additional Support Team can help you. We are the only College in Wiltshire to have achieved the BDA Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark for a designated unit, the Skills Development Centre.
Assistive technology allows many students to develop more ways to overcome their difficulties as well as enhancing their independence. We offer a wide range of technology including software such as Doc’s Plus, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Tint & Track and Office 365. Once enrolled at the college drop-in sessions with ALS can be booked to find out more information about the technology and what may work best for you.
At both our North Star and Queens Drive Campus’ there are Learning Support Assistants (LSA), general and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) mentors that offer support during students time at college.
