We want your college experience to be a safe, happy and supported one. Looking after your wellbeing is a core priority for us all. We are proud to have been awarded the national ‘Young People Friendly’ award.
Nurses
We have qualified nurses who provide general health advice, help and support with medical conditions and where needed, referral to specialist services.
Qualified Counsellors
We have Counsellors on both campuses which can be accessed by completing a self-referral form, where you will offered 6 weekly sessions to fit around your timetable.
Our Counsellors are also available at lunch times for short drop-in sessions as and when needed.
Wellbeing Response Officer
Our Response Officers are based in the Wellbeing Rooms and are there to offer :
· Immediate drop-in support throughout your college day.
· A quiet space for students to retreat to when feeling overwhelmed or anxious
Engagement and Wellbeing Coaches
When you start at New College you will be allocated an Engagement and Wellbeing Coach who will be available to offer support and guidance throughout your time at college.
· Short-term weekly 1-to-1 support
· Recommendations to teaching staff to support you in the classroom
· Signposting to internal support and external agencies
· Transition support when making the move from school to college.

We work closely with an organisation called Togetherall to provide a 24/7 online support service for students who may be struggling with how they feel. The service is monitored by trained counsellors, who will step in if they have any concerns about your safety.
