Your Guide to University Clearing

Are you looking for a course in Clearing?

Clearing is open from the 5th of July to the 20th of October 2025.

What is Clearing?

Clearing might be for you if things didn’t go as planned, you’ve had a change of heart about your current application, or have decided that you do want to go to university after all. Don’t give up on your dream!

All you need to do is find a course that still has vacancies through UCAS, or browse our degree-level courses on our website. You’ll need:

  • A personal ID number
  • Your Clearing number
  • Your grades/UCAS Tariff points
  • Reasons why you want a place on the course.

Who Can Apply?

Students can apply for Clearing if they:

  • Haven’t already applied to university before the 30th of June
  • Haven’t received any offers
  • Changed your mind about where you want to study
  • Didn’t meet the conditions of your offer
  • Declined your firm place
  • Got better grades than expected
  • Didn’t get the results you needed.

Funding

There are a number of bursaries available to help you with travel expenses, course costs, accommodation and more. At New College Swindon University Centre there we offer a scholarship, which means the course will be free for the successful applicant.
