‘Women in Screen Scholarship’ at Central Film School in London Awarded to New College Swindon Student
Level 3 Film & TV student, Amie Dobson, applied for one of the top film schools in London. She has been awarded the ‘Women in Screen Scholarship’. The scholarship aims to combat the underrepresentation of women in the industry. Amie’s tuition will be 100% funded by the London school. She will have access to industry mentorship, practical learning opportunities and position her work for success on screen.
There were two stages to the application process. In the first stage, Amie had to film a video sharing why the scholarship would be beneficial to her. In the second stage, she had to create a pitch deck to share her film ideas.
Amie says, “This is a really big deal for me. I’m going to be living in London, which will be expensive, but this allows me the opportunity to do this course to help me achieve my dream of being a director in the film industry.
Before college, I didn’t even think about uni, but my lecturers at NCS have made me feel like I really have a future in this industry.”
