New Degree-Level Course for Swindon! Early Years Professional Leadership HND

New College Swindon University Centre (NCSUC) is pleased to announce the arrival of a brand-new course, ‘Early Years Professional Leadership HND’, to its menu of higher-level qualifications. This new qualification is designed to meet the needs and expectations of students aspiring to work in the early years’ environment. It’s a practical course, offering flexibility for those already working, as students will only need to come to college once a week for in-person learning.

In response to the current Government’s policy on ‘Giving every child the best start in life’, this course will ensure more skilled, passionate early educators join and remain in the sector within the local area. The current government have set an ambitious target of 75% of 5-year-olds in England having a good level of development by 2028. With over 200 early years settings in the local area, this qualification will support a professional and qualified workforce.

Valerie Quinn, Programme Leader for the Foundation Degree in Early Years, says, “After this course, students can progress onto the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies at the NCSUC. We’re thrilled to offer this course to new and current practitioners, allowing them to develop their skills and knowledge and  become professional leaders within the education sector.”

Louise Steer, Head of the Society Faculty, said: “We’re really pleased to be offering this course locally for people who want to move forward in their careers without having to step back from their job or disrupt family life. It matters to us that our learners feel supported, stretched, and able to achieve their ambitions. This course will not only help raise aspirations across Swindon but also strengthen the sector with confident, skilled practitioners. We’re committed to supporting the future workforce and playing our part in meeting national skills needs, and this programme is an important step towards that.”
