New College Swindon re-awarded matrix Standard accreditation

19 Jul 2022

New College Swindon is pleased to announce that after a four day inspection by assessors we have been re-awarded the matrix Standard Accreditation.

The matrix Standard provides recognition of an organisation’s high standards of information, advice and guidance delivery in a Further Education setting. An inspection takes place every three years and annual continuous improvement checks take place. This is the first inspection since the merger of New College Swindon and Swindon College in 2020.

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for New College Swindon and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available. The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas.”

Achieving the Standard involves an agreed assessment process where the quality and delivery of information and advice is assessed against the matrix Standard’s four main elements: leadership and management; resources; service delivery; and continuous quality improvement.

Carole Kitching, Principal and CEO of New College Swindon, said:

“We are delighted to have been re-awarded the accreditation. As a College, we strive to ensure that we deliver best practice in providing high-quality information, advice and guidance across the board. Achieving the matrix Standard recognises the hard work of all staff to make the College a supportive and informative place of education.”
