New College Swindon offers the chance to retrain as a Barber

New College is offering an exciting opportunity for local people to change career or return to work, and retrain as a barber. The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering starts on 2nd November in the evening and runs every Wednesday and Thursday for seven months.

The course contains units to prepare students to work effectively as a junior Barber, including: client consultation for hair services, cutting men’s hair, cutting facial hair and following health and safety in the salon. Students learn at the College’s North Star campus in training clinics which are industry-standard. There is also a commercial hair and beauty salon with the latest tools, resources and equipment, and the chance to work on paying clients.

“This course really does provide a fantastic opportunity for people to retrain and we’re expecting it to be very popular. You don’t have to have previous skills or qualifications in barbering to undertake it; just have a successful interview with us. On completion, you could be walking into a new career route.”
