NHS Test and Trace Privacy Statement
For the purposes of this privacy statement, New College refers to the New College Swindon Queen’s Drive campus and the Swindon College North Star campus and will be referred as The College hereafter.
The college is committed in supporting the government’s coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery strategy. In order to support the contact tracing service, we may collect, store and share your personal data for this purpose. This includes:
- Your name and contact details;
- Details of your attendance at the relevant campus, including dates and times of arrival/departure.
We do not collect special category data as part of this process.
Who has access to this data? How is it shared?
Your personal data will be collected and processed by the college and our staff by using an electronic attendance register. Access will be limited to individuals who need to record and manage the information per the contact tracing service requirements.
We will only use or share your personal data when requested by the contact tracing service.

What is our lawful basis for processing your information?
Our lawful basis for processing your personal data for this purpose is:
Public task. The processing of your personal data may be necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in us (Article 6(1)(e) of GDPR).
How long will this data be kept?
We will keep the personal data you provide for the contact- tracing service purposes for 21 days, as recommended by the UK Government.
Transfers outside Europe
We do not transfer your personal data outside Europe

We do not make automated decisions using this information.
