About the Course
This course is designed for anyone who wants to work in a team within a customer facing environment. This could be a coffee shop, a restaurant, a hotel, on a reception desk, in retail or maybe at a busy tourist attraction. This can also create opportunity for work if you decide to travel as jobs in hospitality around the world are a great way to fund your journeys. You will gain valuable experience and learning in our busy College Training Restaurant and Lyra’s Coffee Shop covering skills in customer service, food service, barista operation, serving in a bar, handling payments and working within a team in a busy environment. You will be learning about menus and dishes, wines and beers. Employer engagement and trips will be integral to your course, building your knowledge and skills for your employability opportunities.
Entry Requirements
A Level 2 related qualification, GCSE English and Maths at grade 3/4 or above, and sound industrial experience.
Where next
Successful students can progress onto Level 3 Diploma in Food and Beverage Service Supervision creating further opportunity to enter a variety of roles working your way up to a Supervisor or Management level including Event Management, Restaurant or Coffee Shop, Wedding Planning, Management training courses in the Retail Industry or Customer Service roles

Fees information
This course is free to students aged 16-18.
Students aged 19+ will usually be charged a tuition fee, unless they meet certain eligibility criteria for fee remission. For those paying, an Advanced Learner Loan may be available. For further advice on fees, waivers and loans, please contact the Fees Co-Ordinator at Queens Drive.
