HR Consultant/Partner (CIPD) Apprenticeship (Level 5)

This role could be called an HR Consultant or an HR Business Partner in different organisations. Individuals in this role will use their HR expertise to provide and lead the delivery of HR solutions to business challenges, together with tailored advice to the business in a number of HR areas, typically to mid-level and senior managers. They could be in a generalist role, where they provide support across a range of HR areas – likely to be the Core HR option; or a specialist role, where they focus on and have in depth expertise in a specific area of HR – likely to be Resourcing, Total Reward, Organisation Development, or HR Operations.

Programme Requirements:

A Levels/ Level 3 Apprenticeship or other related qualification; along with GCSE Maths and English at grade 9 - 4 (A* - C). We have to make sure that the Apprentice has the potential to achieve the different elements that make up the Apprenticeship qualification, and that they are working at the right level in their job role. It is a requirement to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, and this may lead to taking some additional diagnostic assessments.

Typical Duration:

24 months to complete, depending on the employer and apprentice needs.

Apprenticeship Content:

This apprenticeship standard has been developed with the help of employers such as Walter Smith Fine Foods LTD, Marks and Spencer’s, Lloyds Bank, Sanctuary Housing, Volvo, BT, Specsavers, EEF, Canon Europe, Bakkavor, Yorkshire Building Society, Marston’s PLC, Severn Trent PLC, Jaguar Land Rover Limited, Civil Service Learning, The Community Housing Group, Carillion PLC, Compass Group plc, McDonald’s UK, Dimension Data UK

There are a number of elements to each Apprenticeship and this is called a Standard. This Standard includes:

A knowledge based qualification:

  • CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate in Human Resource Management

On Programme Assessment:

  • Portfolio of evidence

  • Assessment of behaviours and skills

  • Technical knowledge and understanding

  • Technical competencies

Functional Skills:

  • Maths, English at Level 2

End-point assessment:

  • Consultative Project

  • Professional Discussion

What can an Apprentice do next?

Successful completion of this standard enables the apprentice to apply to become an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
