German for Beginners
About the course
The course has been designed for you to use German in everyday situations with supporting grammar and vocabulary to help you understand, speak, read and write German at a basic level. Over the year, you will cover the following topics:
Greetings, personal details, family, work and leisure, eating and shopping, numbers and telling the time, travelling and transport, clothing, weather, health and fitness. There is an emphasis on contemporary life, culture and society in German speaking countries.

What additional resources will I need?
It is recommended that course participants purchase ‘Willkommen! German 1 Coursebook Beginner’s course’ (Paul Coggle and Heiner Schenke, John Murray Learning, 3rd edition 2018). N.B. Participants do not need the CD and DVD set or the Activity Book.
