With the increased strain todays health issues are placing on our society, there is an ever-increasing demand for qualified health and social care practitioners. This programme is ideal if you are working within health or social care and want to develop knowledge and skills that will enable you to progress within your chosen career.

This programme is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to administer high-quality, safe and compassionate care as part of a career within the rewarding health and social care sector. With an applied focus, this programme will link theoretical knowledge to real-life practice. Students will need to go on work placement and be subject to a DBS check.


Students on this course will have access to:

New Higher Education Centre In Sept 2018 the new Higher Education Centre opened, providing our learners with a dedicated space for lessons and self-study.


You will be equipped for a range of roles in health or social care settings, local authorities, the voluntary sector and private care settings.
On completion of this foundation degree, you can continue your studies by going on to complete a full Honours Degree such as the BSc (Hons) Healthcare Management at the University of Gloucestershire. There is the possibility of gaining certification after 1 year (Cert HE), allowing you to leave after 1 year if preferred and gain entry onto degree programmes in Nursing, Social Work or Social Care.

GCSE English and Maths, 9 - 4 (A* - C) Alternative equivalency testing may be undertaken.


UCAS Tariff: 48 points From A Levels or equivalent qualification(s)
Where a mature student may not meet standard entry requirements but has significant vocational experience, they may be considered and would be expected to attend an interview which will include a written task.


This is a 2 year course (full-time). Your course will be assessed by written, oral and practical tasks.
