About the course
This qualification is designed for new entrants to the industry, providing them with the basic skills and experience they need.
The certificate will suit students who want to learn the basics of electro-technical principles and practice. It allows students to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electro-technology sector. This is a qualification that tests both practical and knowledge-based skills.
The qualification covers topics which include:
Health and safety in building engineering
Principles of electrical science
Electrical installations technology
Installation of wiring systems technology.
4 x Grade 4 at GCSE including maths and English
Upon successful completion of the L2 course, progression is onto the L3 course
Work experience and employability
30 Hours of work experience in a relevant sector will support the implementation of underpinning knowledge and enhance practical skills learned. There is potential for progression onto the apprenticeship program following this program.

Scientific calculator, black pen, pencils, coloured pencils and an A4 notebook
Students aged 19+ may be able to fund this course via the Advanced Learner Loan. Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks. Check you eligibility at www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.
