About the course
This course gives you a wide-ranging knowledge and understanding of different aspects of business including marketing, finance and business communication, as well as the practical skills needed to help you gain employment.
Units include: Enterprise in Business World; Finance for Business; Principles of Marketing; Introducing International Business; Working in Business Team; Managing Personal Finances; Effective Business communication.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 3 /D including English Language and Maths or successful completion of Level 1 business and subject to conversation with the Programme leader.
Where next?
The skills that you will develop on this course are recognised by potential employers. There will be visits and/or employer talks during the year.
The Extended Certificate can lead you on to a T Level or A Level in Business Studies. The qualification is also designed to help you find employment in a wide range of businesses, including apprenticeships.
Work experience and employability
Work experience is encouraged at the end of the course and you will be supported in applying.
In addition, as this is a vocational subject, other off site visits may be arranged during the year.
What additional resources will I need?
You will need to supply your own stationary, pen drives/USB sticks and an A4 lever arch file.
Fees information
This course is free to students aged 16-18.
Students aged 19+ will usually be charged a tuition fee, unless they meet certain eligibility criteria for fee remission. For those paying, an Advanced Learner Loan may be available. For further advice on fees, waivers and loans, please contact the Fees Co-Ordinator at Queens Drive.
