About the course

The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Radiography) incorporates a blend of science and medicine, to prepare you for a career working within a diagnostic role in healthcare. You will study specific elements physics, chemistry and biology, including atomic structure and anatomy to give you the understanding you need to start your career in radiography.

Part of the course includes the core scientific and medical principles that will allow you to work safely and responsibly with radiation and hazardous materials, how to operate radiological equipment and how to analyse scans.

The course – and the degree you’ll be eligible to study after – will provide you with a diverse range of knowledge and skills that will be invaluable wherever your career takes you.

Life is unpredictable, and circumstances change, which is why you may not want to wait until September to enrol on an Access to Higher Education Diploma (Radiographer). If you want to study you can start right away, or at another time that is convenient for you. The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Radiographer) has been specifically designed to suit people who have been out of the formal education system for a while. Because there are no classes to attend, individuals with family and work commitments can still fulfil their career ambitions by fitting their studies around their schedule. On average student take between 8-12 months to finish their diploma (with the maximum time allowed to complete your diploma being 2 years).

Entry requirements

  • You must be 19 years old

  • You must have a Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths, or GCSE/O’Levels grade C/4 and above.

  • Have access to IT and WIFI

  • Distance Learning isn’t for everyone. If we feel that this mode of study may not be quite right for you, we will help you to find the one that is.
