About the course
Duration: 1 year full time or 2 years part time
The Access Diploma in Humanities course is for adults who have limited qualifications but would like to progress after completion to a degree course or go on to further professional training. The course is studied full time over one academic year and includes subjects such as law, psychology, sociology, and history. The higher education opportunities available to students include primary school teaching, history, sociology, psychology and law.
You must be 19 years old and wish to proceed to university or professional training. You must have Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (Literature and Language) or GCSE at grade 4/c or above. English is essential prior to starting, however maths can be completed alongside the programme.
Once you have completed your course, you can apply to study a Computing degree at university. Graduates will come away with transferable skills.

You may wish to access the Advanced Learner Loan where the Government cover the course fees, only repayable when you’re earning over £27,295.
