This course is designed to prepare learners for a career as a senior hairdresser/stylist. It will allow learner to develop a great breadth of technical skills. You will have the opportunity to have their hairdressing skills assessed in a realistic working environment.
You will further develop your understanding and skills by selecting a number of optional specialist units that include: hair colour correction; bridal hairstyling; marketing for the hair and beauty sector; hair extensions and in-depth colour knowledge with the colour brand Matrix. You will also be College trained in the product Olapex. This qualification structure provides you with the flexibility to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills depending on your designated career pathway as a senior hairdresser/stylist.
You will participate in an end of year show. This will give you the opportunity to show case the skills that they have developed throughout the year.
Level 3 Hairdressing gives the learners the opportunity to become confident within their industry, and build up their clientele with the support of a hairdressing assessor.
Entry requirements
Level 2 hairdressing and a successful interview.
Future career and study opportunities
This qualification will prepare learners for employment as a senior hairdresser/stylist. Leaners may choose to further their knowledge and skills by undertaking an advanced specialist qualification at Level 4.
Work experience/Careers Extra
This qualification requires students to complete 30 hours of work experience over the year. The College has a work experience team who can support you to find a placement in a salon. There is also a fully equipped commercial salon that will help learners develop their hairdressing skills.
