To study this course you are required to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths.

A genuine interest in working in social care and supporting others
Commitment to complete work experience in a social care setting
Ability to secure an enhanced DBS check for placement purposes
This course is designed for learners who are aiming to pursue a career in social care. Learners who are interested in health care should consider our T-Level Health course instead.
Completing this qualification gives you the knowledge, practical experience, and professional skills to progress in social care or continue your studies at a higher level. This course is an excellent foundation for a rewarding career in social care or for progression into higher-level qualifications in the sector.

You will complete a minimum of 50 hours per academic year in a real-world social care environment.
We strongly recommend undertaking additional hours where possible, as this helps build practical skills, enhances your understanding of social care, and improves your progression opportunities into employment or higher-level study.
Work placements allow you to apply your learning, gain confidence working with service users, and develop the professional skills required for a career in social care.
