All interns will have an EHCP and a desire to secure paid employment of 16 hours or more per week. You must be travel trained (or willing to be travel trained). You must also behave and dress in a professional manner as an advocate for the college.
All applicants should:
Have a current Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Be 18-24 years old
Be a resident within Swindon Borough Council
Have the desire and motivation to achieve paid employment
Be able to travel independently or willing to learn independent travel skills.
The aim for interns is to secure a full-time paid position. You will be eligible for follow-on support from an employability coach after the programme has ended.
As an intern on this programme, you will spend most of your time in a work placement. You will be supported by a Job Coach, both in and out of the workplace, to provide the right help and support to enable you to thrive and succeed.
During this programme, you will complete a variety of work experience roles within great Western Hospital, based primarily at its site in Swindon. Potential placements include:
Switchboard
Portering
Security
Catering
Cleaning
Estates
Ongoing projects team- General administration
