This course is designed to support students with additional needs prepare for getting into employment and is an ideal precursor to embarking on a Supported Internship. Students who apply for this programme must have a keen intention to gain employment in the future. The programme will focus on students understanding what skills they have and need to gain a job. This is a very practical programme which contains work experience. Students will have the opportunity to experience different working environments and identify the different types of jobs they may be good at or enjoy working in, in the future. When going into a work placement, students will be supported, where needed, by a Job Coach.

Students embarking on this programme should have a strong desire to enter the world of work and an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Work experience/Careers Extra
This course is focused on work experience and students will spend a lot of their time learning the skills to enter the workplace. Once students have gained the skills and the confidence to start, a tutor and Job Coach will help identify appropriate, short-term placements for them.
