Professional Cookery Level 3 Advanced Diploma

This course has been specifically designed to enable you to work part time in the industry, while studying, this means you will have the opportunity to put your practical skills into practice.

The content of this qualification covers a wide range of cooking techniques for meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, pastry and desserts. You will also learn about Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations (which are essential for the industry) as well as communication skills, tutorials and cooking tasks in the College kitchens and Restaurant.

Entry requirements

You must be at least 17 and have achieved a Level 2 Professional Cookery qualification or GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. You will also need some industry experience and a genuine desire to pursue a career within the sector.

Future career and study opportunities

Successfully completing this course will enable you to progress into the hospitality industry as a Junior Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Pastry Chef or Head Chef. This is an exciting time for the sector, with many career opportunities on offer.

During this course you will take part in a variety of work experience and other activities to help you develop employability skills. This hands-on learning will prepare you for an exciting career in the industry.
