Portraiture with Caryn Koh
Join our experienced tutor Caryn Koh for a dynamic and confidence‑building journey into portrait drawing. Whether you're refining your skills or starting from the very beginning, this course guides you through the essential foundations that bring a portrait to life shape, proportion, tone, and expressive detail.
You’ll begin with warm‑up drawing exercises that loosen the hand and sharpen observation. From there, Caryn will walk you through the structure of the face, how to capture accurate proportions, and how to build depth using tones and shadows. Step by step, you’ll learn how to transform simple shapes into a compelling, lifelike portrait.
As the course progresses, you’ll gain the skills to move from initial sketches to polished, expressive drawings.
The supportive, relaxed environment encourages experimentation, curiosity, and growth at every stage.
To complete your learning experience, you’ll put your new skills into practice by drawing from a live model, giving you the chance to apply everything you’ve learned with confidence and creativity.
