This course will provide you with a nationally-recognised qualification in plumbing, enabling you to pursue a successful career in the construction industry. You will learn both theory and practical skills, delivered in different ways including demonstrations, practical workshops, assignments, learning packs, project work and self-study.
The content of the course is varied, covering the key knowledge needed in the plumbing sector. Units include: Health & Safety Electrical Principles and Processes, Common Plumbing Processes, Hot and Cold Water Systems, Sanitation, Central Heating, Drainage Systems and Communication.
You will also have timetabled sessions in English and maths, work experience and enrichment as part of your study programme.
Entry requirements
You will need four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and maths, together with a keen interest in plumbing.
Future career and study opportunities
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress into industry or move into an apprenticeship, developing further skills ‘on the job’ while also attending college.
Additional resources/costs
All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided including safety boots and a hi-vis waistcoat. You will need to supply your own stationery.
