Performing and Production Arts Industry Skills Level 2 Extended Certificate

If you are keen to specialise in Performing Arts - acting, singing & dancing - then this is the course for you. It will prepare you for employment in the performing arts industry or progression onto a Level 3 qualification by giving you the opportunity to develop technical and practical skills.

The course covers all aspects of performing arts including: skills development, creative interpretation and creating a production, audition and portfolio process, preparing for a production and taking part in a live performance at the Phoenix Theatre.

Throughout the course you will need keep a portfolio of evidence in the form of a rehearsal diary and logbooks. You will need to work on assignments and coursework independently, while also working collaboratively with others.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 3/D including GCSE English Language. You will need to be organised, committed and have a genuine interest in performing arts.

Future career and study opportunities

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress to a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice or RSL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative & Performing Arts (Dance).

Work experience/Careers Extra

This course includes many activities that will help to develop your employability skills, such as competitions, live performances and workshops with visiting artists.

Additional resources/costs

You will need to dress in clothes that are suitable for practical workshops, such as joggers & t-shirts. All other resources will be provided by the college.
