This course explores the “Managing of Oxygen in Care Homes” guidance from CQC and explores the following areas:

  • Discuss the need for oxygen therapy

  • List the signs and symptoms of respiratory inadequacy

  • State the causes of respiratory failure

  • Identify indications for Oxygen Therapy.

  • Discuss complications of Oxygen Therapy

  • Discuss ongoing management of Oxygen in a Care Home Setting.

  • Describe the different oxygen delivery systems available.

  • Describe the systematic approach to assessment, monitoring and management of the patient with breathing problems in residential and/or Nursing Care.

Entry requirements

This course is designed for carers in all areas of the industry but especially the private sector of care homes and domiciliary staff.

Will equip you to manage the ongoing management of oxygen within care homes.
