This course is for anyone who doesn’t hold a Maths GCSE at Grade 4/C and would like to improve or update their skills.
Functional Skills are nationally recognised qualifications that will provide you with useful and transferable skills in Maths across five different levels. These qualifications are recognised by employers and will support your progression into employment or further/higher education.
The content of the course includes solving mathematical problems, common measures, shapes and handling of data.
Please note that course assessments and final exams are held in-house at our Adult Learning Centre in Swindon and you will need to be able to attend this venue.
You must be 19 or older at the start of the academic year and have lived in the UK or EU for the last three years or more. You must not already hold a C/4 grade in GCSE Maths and you will need to undertake an initial assessment prior to starting the course.
Future career and study opportunities
There are many other courses and qualifications on offer at New College and the Adult Education Centre. Improving your maths skills will support your progression onto these and into employment.
