You will need four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including English and Maths (or equivalent).
On successful completion of this course, can progress to the Diploma in Professional Cookery at Level 3. This takes an additional year to complete (full time) and will help you progress your career as a successful chef. Alternatively, you may wish to move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship, to develop your skills ‘on the job’.
There are a huge amount of job opportunities in the hospitality and catering sector currently – ranging from pubs and restaurants to cruise ships and healthcare settings.
During this course you will take part in a variety of work experience and other activities to help you develop employability skills. This hands-on learning will prepare you for an exciting career in the industry.
You will need to purchase Chef Whites, a restaurant uniform and a full set of knives and cooking equipment. However, bursaries are available to cover these costs. Please do speak to our enrolment team about this if required.
