HR Support (CIPD) Level 3 Apprenticeship

This course is for HR professionals who are either working as part of an HR function in a medium/large organisation or as an HR manager in a smaller company. Your work is likely to include providing HR advice, working on HR processes, using HR systems for record keeping and working with the business on HR changes.

Delivery and assessment

This apprenticeship standard has been developed with the help of employers including: Walter Smith Fine Foods LTD, Marks and Spencer, Lloyds Bank, Sanctuary Housing, Volvo, BT, Specsavers, EEF, Canon Europe, Bakkavor, Yorkshire Building Society, Marstons PLC, Severn Trent PLC, Jaguar Land Rover Limited, Civil Service Learning, The Community Housing Group, Carillion PLC, Compass Group plc, McDonald's UK, Dimension Data UK

There are a number of elements to each Apprenticeship, which is called a Standard. This Standard includes:

A knowledge-based qualification

  • Business Understanding

  • HR Legislation and Policy

  • HR Function

  • HR Systems and Processes

On Programme Assessment

  • Portfolio of evidence

  • Assessment of behaviours and skills

  • Technical knowledge and understanding

  • Technical competencies

Functional Skills

  • Maths, English at Level 2

End-point assessment

  • Consultative Project

  • Professional Discussion

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 9 - 4 (A*- C) or be willing to undertake Functional Skills Level 2.

We do have to make sure that you have potential to achieve the different elements that make up the qualification, and that you are working at the right level in your job. It may be a requirement to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, and this may lead to taking some additional diagnostic assessments and skills exams.

Future career and study opportunities

Successful completion of this standard will enable you to become an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and progress your career in HR.
