Hairdressing Salon Management Level 4 Diploma

This course will prepare you for an exciting career as a senior hairdresser/stylist. You will develop many technical skills and have these assessed in a realistic working environment.

You will build on your existing knowledge of hairdressing via a number of specialist units, which include: hair colour correction; bridal hairstyling; marketing for the hair and beauty sector; hair extensions and in-depth colour knowledge. You will also be trained in the product Olapex.

The structure of this qualification will provide you with flexibility to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills you need for the specific pathway you wish to pursue in the industry. It will also enable you to build up your clientale and your confidence, with the support of a hairdressing assessor.

In addition, you will have be involved with the end of year show. This will provide you with the opportunity to showcase the skills that they have developed throughout the year.

Entry requirements

To join this course you will need a Level 2 qualification in hair and also undertake an interview.

Future career and study opportunities

This qualification will prepare you for employment as a senior hairdresser/stylist. You can also extend these skills by undertaking an advanced specialist qualification at Level 4.

This sector offers a wide range of exciting employment opportunities in many different settings including: salons, film and TV, cruise ships, wedding industry and as a mobile/self-employed professional.

Work experience/Careers Extra

As part of this qualification, you will need to complete 30 hours of work experience over the year. The College has a work experience team who will support you to find a placement in a salon. There is also a fully equipped commercial salon that will help you develop your hairdressing skills.

Additional resources/costs

When your place on the course has been secured, you will need to purchase a Hairdressing Kit and Uniform. You will also need to provide your own stationery and additional resources may be needed through the year.
