This award is designed for people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and require safety awareness. It is suitable It is suitable for non-technical people such as managers, valeters, parts, sales and aftersales staff, event staff, fleet managers and personnel, vehicle recovery personnel, vehicle dismantlers, vehicle damage assessors, insurance companies, vehicle hire companies, and electric/hybrid professional vehicle drivers.
This nationally recognised qualification is designed to provide you with an introduction to the knowledge of safe working practices, the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles and the precautions required to avoid potential injury when near electric/hybrid vehicles.
Note: This is a knowledge unit only and does not deem someone competent to work on the high-energy electrical systems of an electric/hybrid vehicle.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you should have an interest in electric and hybrid vehicles or be working in an industry that you will encounter them.
Future career and study opportunities
Many students progress onto IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Hazard Management for Emergency and Recovery Personnel or IMI Level 2 Award in Electrical/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities.
