Electrical Installation Level 2 Diploma

You will develop the knowledge and practical skills required for a career in the electrical industry. Topics include health and safety in building services engineering, electrical science, installation of wiring systems and enclosures, and communication within building services engineering. The course includes both classroom-based theory and hands-on workshop sessions to prepare you for work or further training in the electrical sector.

Entry requirements
  • 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, in Maths and English

  • A keen interest in electrical work

  • A willingness to follow health and safety procedures and work as part of a team.

Future career and study opportunities

You can progress to the Level 3 Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation, begin an electrical apprenticeship, or seek employment as an electrical improver or mate while continuing your training.

Work experience/Careers Extra

Where possible, you will complete a work placement within the electrical industry to enhance your employability and help put your learning into practice. This may be arranged through the college or independently.

Additional resources/costs

You will need to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety boots and overalls. A scientific calculator, textbook, and writing materials will also be required.
