You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3/D including English and Maths, or successful completion of Level 1. A DBS check will also be needed prior to any placement offer.
In addition, you will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement, to demonstrate your interest and competence in this area.
This qualification allows progression onto the T-Level in Education and Childcare. It will also prepare you for other relevant early years courses and provide a pathway to employment in the early years and childcare sector.

You will complete around 150 hours on a work placement while undertaking this course. This will be carried out one day per week alongside your college studies, giving you the hands-on experience needed to meet the assessment criteria for the qualification.

You will need a New College T-shirt to wear on your work placement and to cover any travel costs. You may also want to buy some of the textbooks used in class or access the e-learning resources provided.
