T-Levels are a two-year, Level 3 study programme, a great alternative to A Levels and Apprenticeship. T Levels will combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315 hours of industry placement with an employer to make sure students have real experience of the workplace.
The Technical Qualification (TQ) is the main classroom-based element of the T Level and will see students learning from a curriculum that has been shaped by the industry experts. During the two-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge that underpins each industry, and they will also develop occupational specific skills that will allow them to enter skilled employment within a specific occupation.
The T-Level programme has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so the content will meet the needs of industry and prepare students for work.
Entry requirements
• GCSE 5 subjects at 4 (including Maths and English Language)
• A Level-2 qualification Pass with GCSE Maths and English Language.
Future career and study opportunities
The course provides you with the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.
Work experience/Careers Extra
A minimum 315 hours of industry placement is mandatory to achieve the qualification.
Additional resources/costs
You will need to purchase a textbook and cover the cost of any course-related trips you may wish to attend.
You will also need to pay for transport costs to/from your industry placement.
