This is a visual and exciting course, which will give you an insight into different creative sectors. If you are passionate about art, with an interest in all things creative, then this is the course for you!
You will be involved with lots of exciting, highly practical projects and lessons throughout this course – giving you the opportunity to demonstrate and enhance your artistic skills through a carousel of units.
The course covers a wide range of specialisms, from which you will study different creative units. Examples include:
You will also choose one of two pathways – makeup/beauty or product design – depending on your interests. You will have access to the excellent facilities in our creative department, including professional materials, tools and equipment.
This is a one-year course, taught for 10 hours a week. All units are assessed internally through practical work, sketchbook, and design work.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, you will need to demonstrate creativity and have a keen interest in the arts, with a willingness to undertake all elements of the course.
Future career and study opportunities
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto higher level studies including BTEC Level 2 courses such as Media Make-up Level 2 and Art & Design Level 2. This will help you pursue a career in this exciting industry.

This course does not have any specific kit requirement, but you may wish to purchase a few products and/or materials. You may also need to contribute to any courses and visits you choose take part in, but costs are kept to a minimum.
