L5 BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing for England (Computing)

L5 BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing for England (Computing)

Based in the new state-of-the art Institute of Technology (IoT), the HND Computing for England qualification, will provide students a route into either the world of work or progression to a full BSc degree.

This qualification is aimed at budding computer professionals and will equip them with the skills and knowledge to work within the Computing industry. This non-specialist ‘General’ pathway allows students to complete a Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma without committing to a particular professional specialism. Students will develop a sound understanding of the principles in their field of study and will learn to apply those principles more widely.

They will learn to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to solving problems. They will be able to perform effectively in their chosen field and will have the qualities necessary for employment in situations that require the exercise of personal responsibility and decision making.

The pathways at both Level 4 and Level 5 are mapped to the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’s Occupational Standards, professional body standards and vendor-accredited certification (where appropriate) and can provide professional status and progression to direct employment.
