This focused, practical session helps care staff build the confidence and knowledge to recognise signs and symptoms of common health conditions in the people they support. Early recognition can make a vital difference in ensuring timely care and improving outcomes.

What You’ll Learn:

Identify key signs and symptoms of common conditions such as:

  • Diabetes

  • Stroke

  • Dementia

  • Respiratory conditions (e.g. COPD, asthma)

  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

  • Pressure ulcers

  • Understand when and how to escalate concerns appropriately

  • Learn how to monitor and record changes in a person’s condition

  • Explore the importance of communication and teamwork in early detection
