This apprenticeship is for people who want to pursue a career in the construction industry, in the area of brickwork. You will learn how to lay bricks, blocks and other types of mortar to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches and other structures.
You will be taught about general work place safety, efficient work practice, moving and handling resources, erecting and dismantling work platforms, placing and finishing concrete.

Employers offer apprenticeship vacancies and will set the entry requirements, which will vary according to the role. If you do not already hold a minimum GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths (or equivalent) you will be required to study functional skills in these areas as part of your apprenticeship.

You will be able to progress onto a higher level apprenticeship and develop your career as a bricklayer.
