This practical, interactive session equips care staff with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively to behaviours that challenge in a compassionate and professional way. Grounded in real-world scenarios and best practice, the course helps staff understand the reasons behind challenging behaviours and how to manage them safely and respectfully.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Understand what is meant by “behaviours that challenge” and why they occur

  • Explore common triggers and how to reduce the likelihood of escalation

  • Learn practical, person-centred strategies to de-escalate situations

  • Build confidence in responding calmly and professionally

  • Reflect on the impact of behaviour on staff and residents, and how to maintain wellbeing.

Working in a Health and Social Care setting.
