Beauty Specialist Techniques Diploma

This is a practical course for people seeking a career as a beauty specialist. You will develop the knowledge and skills needed to prepare you for employment in this industry, learning in a realistic working environment and providing treatments on external clients.

This qualification covers a wide range of treatments and techniques including: Manicure and Pedicure Treatments; Waxing; Facial and Skin Type Analysis; Eyebrow Shaping; Eyelash and Eyebrow Tinting; Make-up Applications; Eye lash lifting; Self-tan application; Health and safety; and Anatomy and Physiology for Beauty Therapist.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and Maths.

Future career and study opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to a Level 3 Beauty Therapy course. There will are many career opportunities open to you in this sector including: commercial beauty salons, self-employed/mobile therapists, film and TV, cruise ships and the wedding industry.

Work experience/Careers Extra

As part of this programme you will be required to complete 35 hours work experience.

Once you have secured your place on the course, you will need to purchase a Beauty Kit and a Beauty uniform.
