You must have a GCSE grade 4 (or higher) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.
If you are not already working in the health sector we suggest volunteering with local hospitals or charities supporting new mums. Once you have completed your diploma, you will be able to apply for a university course. After successfully completing your university degree, you will be able to start working as a fully qualified midwife.
A practicing midwife has plenty of opportunities available to them. These include:
Working for the NHS
Working in private practice
Working overseas
Transferring into a different area of healthcare
