Swedish massage VTCT Level 3 Certificate

The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Swedish massage is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a Swedish massage therapist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role.

This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a beauty massage therapist including, units covering the following: providing body massage, health and safety, anatomy and physiology and client care.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and client care. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide relaxing massage treatments using classical Swedish massage movements. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Entry requirements

Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview.

Additional resources/costs

On success on application, you will need to purchase a Beauty Kit and a Beauty uniform.

Future career and study opportunities

This qualification will prepare you for employment as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist. Career opportunities as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist exist in a variety of contexts, including:

Working in commercial beauty salons
Working in a destination and day spas
Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings.

Fees Information

Once learners have achieved the VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Swedish massage they may progress on to other VTCT courses at level 3 and could progress onto Level 4 certificate in laser and light treatments.
