What will you do?
As an Accounts or Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key part in keeping the finance function running smoothly. You’ll learn to:
Use digital finance systems to process and manage data
Carry out essential bookkeeping tasks
Work with sales and purchase ledgers
Check records and payments for accuracy
Support the preparation of financial statements
You’ll also develop strong communication skills as you interact with colleagues, managers, clients, suppliers, and even government agencies.

Your apprenticeship is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you need to succeed in your role and grow professionally. This learning includes structured “off-the-job” activities, where you’ll explore new concepts and record your progress in a detailed log to show how your development supports your role.

Work with financial data – Identify, collect, and process data from primary sources like business records.

Pay and training
As an apprentice, you’ll be:
Entitled to at least the National Minimum Apprenticeship Wage. For more information, visit gov.uk here.
Paid for time for training or study as part of your apprenticeship
Entitled to holiday pay and other employee rights
At least six hours per week of your normal working hours must be spent on ‘off the job’ training. Your ‘off the job’ training might happen every week, every month or in a separate block of time.
