There are a number of elements to each Apprenticeship, which is called a Standard. This Standard includes:
A knowledge-based qualification
Professional Diploma in Accounting Level 4
On Programme Assessment
Portfolio of evidence
Assessment of behaviours and skills
Systems and processes
Creating and interpreting financial data
Team working and collaboration
Planning and prioritisation
Communication, both independently and as part of a team within the organisation s standards
Applying accounting knowledge to consistently deliver high quality and accurate data
Functional Skills
Maths, English at Level 2
End-point assessment
Role simulation
Portfolio of evidence
There are many roles within this sector, at this level including: Assistant Auditor, Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable and Expenses Supervisor, Commercial Analyst, Payroll Manager, Senior Bookkeeper, Senior Financial Officer, Tax Investigations Officer, Personal Tax Assistant and Business Tax Assistant.
This apprenticeship will take aound 18-24 months to complete, depending on the needs of both you and your employer.
You must be employed within a relevant job role to undertake the programme. Employers offer apprenticeship vacancies and will set job-specific entry requirements.
If you have a current Personal Learning Record (PLR)*, this will be used to establish your eligibility for this apprenticeship programme.
The entry requirements for this apprenticeship are:
English; GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent
Maths; GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent
We do have to make sure that you have the potential to achieve the different elements that make up this qualification, and that you are working at the right level in your job. It may be a requirement to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, and this may lead to taking some additional diagnostic assessments and skills exams.
*PLR is a permanent online record of your qualifications, held by the Department for Education, launched in January 2009. If you achieved your qualifications prior to this date and no longer have your certificates or studied with an organisation based outside of the UK, a suitable assessment process will be undertaken to establish your eligibility for the programme.
You can progress your career and become a management accountant CIMA or a certified accountant ACCA.
