You may know exactly what course you want to do when you come to New College Swindon, such as music, business, science and more, but do you know whether you want to do an A Level or BTEC?
If you’re not sure what the difference is between an A Level course and a BTEC course, you’re not alone. Here’s a breakdown:
We would recommend A Levels to those who aren’t 100% sure what they want to do in the future.
“I’ve learnt many skills in all of my subjects. I was nervous to start college as I didn’t know anyone, but all the students are so nice and comforting and I have never felt lost. College has helped my confidence massively!”
A Level Textiles, Graphic Design & Fine Art
We would recommend BTECs to those who know what they want to do in the future.
We offer work experience placements for both our A Level and BTEC students, as well as visits from employers and exciting workshops. BTEC students are likely gain more exposure to these elements as it is already part of their study requirements.
“My teachers provided me with useful knowledge and insightful experience during their time in the industry. The stand-out aspect of my course was that I could take part in multiple performances in front of audiences.”
