Paying for Your Course
Finance Information for 19+ students
Investing in further studies as an adult can be expensive and we want to make sure our courses are accessible to anyone looking to better their life through learning. We offer a range of discounts, concessions and bursaries.
The course fees you pay and the support available will vary depending on a number of factors such as how the course is funded, residential status, employment status, age, household income, existing qualifications and whether you receive means-tested benefits.
- Fee Waivers
-
Many fee waivers are available to students. These range from age and course level-related waivers, to benefit or low wage waivers. Our team will ask you detailed questions to see if any of these waivers could apply to your circumstances. If this is the case, they will complete the necessary paperwork with you.
- Advanced Learner Loan
-
The 19+ Advanced Learner Loan is available to students who are studying at Level 3 and some Level 4 courses and who meet eligibility criteria. It is used to pay for your course tuition fees. It isn't dependent on your income and no credit checks are carried out. You do not have to borrow the full cost of your course - you can pay for some of it yourself. You’ll start paying back the loan once your income is over a threshold of £27,295 annually.

- Leisure Course Payment Plans
-
We offer payment plans for any of our leisure courses costing from £65 upwards. Installments vary depending on the cost of the course and full payment must be made 14 days prior to the start of the course. Click here for full details.
- Employer Sponsorship
-
You may be coming to us from an organisation where the employer is happy to pay the fees on your behalf as part of your training and continued development. If this is the case, we will need details of your employer and your Finance department at the time of Enrolment for invoicing purposes.
If you decide not to pay for yourself or none of the fee waivers apply to you, then there is the option of a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan for most of our 19+ courses at Level 3 and above.
- 19+ Bursaries
-
The College has two bursaries available to 19+ students. In order to access them, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Your household income must be less than £35K gross
- Your course must be funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) either from the loan or a fee waiver
- You must meet ESFA residency criteria
