Whether you plan to go to University, take a gap year or go straight into work – we are committed to offering the skills and knowledge to make you stand out from the crowd and able to secure your chosen job. The New College Employability Team is here to help.

Employability skills are reinforced in lessons, as well as developed further in College events, short online qualifications and specific enrichment courses.

Employer Experience

You can participate in different opportunities linked to business, employers and entrepreneurial initiatives. Many courses include presentations by businesses and vocational courses involve a work experience placement or simulated work-related activities. GCSE and A Level students are also expected to undertake work experience

Employability Fairs

Our annual Futures Fair which takes place in the Spring, brings in local and regional employers who will discuss their skills requirements and opportunities with you. In addition, we run sector specific employer fairs - this has included fairs for the Construction, Hospitality & Catering, Travel & Tourism, Health & Social Care and Early Years sectors.
