James Whelan (Team Captain)
Age: 18
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services (2nd Yr)
Aspirations after college: University then into the Police
"I was in the team last year and we were very successful winning the Marines Challenge Trophy."
The Royal Marines Officer leading the event said: "There were 18 colleges and New College were head and shoulders above the rest."
This year James was selected by Paul Holland, Public Services Lecturer, to be the Team Captain.
Louise Hoffa (Vice Captain)
Age: 17
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Uniformed Public Services (2nd Yr)
Aspirations after college: University to study Police Studies and Forensic Investigation. She hopes to join the Police Force after university. Enjoys playing football and has done so for nearly 10 years.
"I am excited to be taking part in the World Skills and have been given the role of Vice Captain within the team which is a great honour to me."
Sabrina Emery
Age: 17
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Uniformed Public Services (1st yr)
Aspirations after college: Wants to go to university to gain life experience. Then join the Fire Service as she enjoys keeping up with her physical fitness.
"I want to join the Fire Service because I want to help the community by securing the public's safety and helping in times of need."

Callum Macmillan
Age: 17
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services (1st Yr)
Aspirations after college: University and then the Police. Hobbies include rugby and other outdoor pursuits.
"As a team there are loads of opportunities such as trips and the other team members are fun to talk to."
Daniel Pearce
Age: 16
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services and A2 Maths.
Aspirations after college: Go to Buckinghamshire University for Police Studies with the goal of getting into the Police after.
"This is an aspiration of mine as I would like to help members of the community"

Simon Sanghera
Age: 18
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services
Aspirations after college: Going to Buckinghamshire University to do Police Studies and looking to join the Police.
"I am looking forward to it and definitely think that we should get a top 3 podium finish."
"To prepare we have been doing lots of physical training such as cardiovascular."
Becky Horwat
Age: 18
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services (1st Yr)
Aspirations after college: Wants to join the Fire Services. She enjoys keeping fit, going to the gym and going shopping.
"I like training because it helps me keep fit but we have to come in at 7:30 in the morning to run the beep test."
Daniel Foxwell
Age: 16
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Uniformed Public Services (1st Yr)
Aspirations after college: Planning on joining the Marines or the RAF as an Officer. Hobbies include running, swimming, climbing, windsurfing, surfing, cycling, shooting and ice skating.
"I am enjoying being part of the team and am also getting a lot out of it in terms of fitness and opportunities such as Ten Tors and Pier Cellars etc."
Rachel French
Age: 17
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services (2nd Yr)
Aspirations after college: Finish college and go to Glamorgan University to study Logistics & Supply Chain Management after that I want to join the RAF as a Supply Officer.

Aspirations after college: Wants to join the Police straight after college.

Michael Ainsworth
Age: 18
Course/Year: BTEC National Diploma in Public Services (2nd Yr)
Aspirations after college: To join the Royal Marines as an Officer. Hobbies include rugby, football and has played both to a high level, winning many competitions. Michael does a lot of cross-country and has reached county level as well as working out at the gym 3 to 4 times a week.
"I am looking forward to World Skills, we have all been training very hard each week and becoming much stronger together as a group. It is a very high level of training to make sure that we are all fully fit on the day."
