NEW COLLEGE SWINDON WELCOME PROSPECTIVE LEARNERS TO OPEN EVENING

Last week New College Swindon opened its doors up to prospective students, to give them a taste of college lifestyle and offer information on the wide range of courses it has to offer.

The evening welcomed a range of leaners from pre-16 and school leavers to part-time study and 19+. Attendees were given the opportunity to tour the college site and visit different study areas. Staff members and current students were on standby to answer any questions about course content, study options and New College itself.

Dance students put on an energetic performance in the main foyer and Chemistry students invited attendees to join in with colourful experiments. The restaurant was set up with stands from various subject areas, offering information and advice.

Amanda Walton, New College’s Head of Marketing and Customer Services said: “At New College we offer the full student package, with around 40 A Levels to choose from, fantastic facilities and a high standard of teaching.  New College consistently achieves good results and we’re a popular post-16 choice for many young people around Swindon, Wiltshire and neighbouring counties.  We’re really proud of the range of courses and activities on offer to students this year - we currently offer over 150 different academic and vocational courses, providing each student with a personalised learning plan that will best help them to achieve their goals. We also offer an excellent range of extracurricular courses and initiatives that students can take to help boost their CV, prepare them for university and work, as well as developing their skills.”

Those who didn’t have the opportunity to visit New College on this occasion, will have another chance in March, when the college will be opening its doors again for the second open evening of the year.
