Art and Design Foundation Diploma students have been working hard on their first exhibition, titled ‘Hermeneutics’.  The theme of the project brief was Richard Serra’s verb list and each student had to produce two outcomes: a wearable piece of art and a large scale canvas.

The private view will take place in the New College main foyer on Monday 25th November 2019 17.30-19.00.  After this, the exhibition will be open every day in the main foyer until December 2nd 2019, New College opening times.

The end of unit exhibition will be a fantastic display of canvases based on verbs from Richard Serra’s verb list, as well as wearable textile art pieces, based on the learner’s interpretation of a given artist.  The work on display will incorporate the following techniques and processes; mono-printing, screen-printing, typography, plaster tiles, lino printing, felt-making, painting, sculpture, fashion construction and textile manipulation techniques.
